Cookies Policy

This page summarises what kawatv.app and the KawaTV web player at watch.kawatv.app store in your browser. It also applies to their former addresses, tv.boredbros.dev and ktv-app.boredbros.dev, for as long as they still show these pages or redirect to them, and to any other address where our hosting provider serves the current version of the web player or this website. Our Privacy Policy has the full details.
Analytics cookies: only if you accept
Both sites use Google Analytics only if you accept analytics cookies in the banner shown on your first visit. Until you press Accept, Google's analytics script is not loaded and no analytics cookies are set. Advertising signals stay switched off either way.
If you accept, Google Analytics sets a cookie named "_ga" and one named "_ga_" followed by the site's ID, to count visits and see which pages are used. Google sets their lifetime (by default up to 2 years).
Each site has its own choice and its own cookies, kept on that site's own address. Your choice on one site does not change your choice on the other.
What else is stored
- Your cookie choice, in your browser's local storage on each site, so we don't ask again. It is not a cookie and is not sent to our servers.
- Your light or dark theme choice on kawatv.app, in local storage.
- The web player's app data on watch.kawatv.app, in local storage: your sign-in session, recently watched channels, favourite leagues and settings, which the web player needs to work, and a count of streams you played, used only by the app's rating prompt.
The web player also registers a small service worker that removes itself straight away and caches nothing.
Changing your choice
- On kawatv.app, use the Cookie settings button in the footer.
- In the web player, use the Cookie preferences button on the sign-in screen, or Settings → About → Cookie preferences once you are signed in.
Choosing Decline stops Google Analytics on the page, deletes its cookies and reloads the page without it. While you have not accepted, the site also deletes any Google Analytics cookies left in your browser on each visit. You can also block or delete cookies and site data in your browser settings. Clearing a site's data also clears your choice there, so the banner appears again, and clearing the web player's site data also signs you out of it.
